About Namu:
Inspired by Korean and Japanese ingredients, philosophy
and techniques, NAMU is a much heralded addition to
San Francisco’s cutting edge Pan Asian dining scene.
Namu means wood or tree in Korean. It also means devotion
or direction in Japanese buddhist practice.
From the exquisite natural cypress bar that anchors
the contemporary minimalist room to the locally sourced
natural meats and organic produce used in the creative menu,
“Namu” represents our devotion to nature and its bounty
in food, drink and ambiance.

so u remember that event we had with Reignforest Collective last month which featured Blu & Mainframe (Johnson & Jonson)? well apparently they lost their Red Baby “Johnny”..
“Blu & MainFrame ’s Johnson&Jonson Album has been widely noticed and talked about around the world as the CD w/ the “Red Baby” on it. Since the birth of the “Red Baby” a.k.a. “Johnny”, the Johnson’s have brought the iconic “Red Baby” everywhere w/ them including trips to the studio, multiple meetings w/ labels, a couple of liquor stores, and their parties to celebrate the release of their critically acclaimed Album.
A couple weeks ago Blu & the Johnson’s performed at 111 Minna, a club in San Francisco, and brought “Johnny” along for additional support. There are several photos from that night that prove that the “Red Baby” truly was in attendance. He was spotted hanging out w/ the homies, a bunch of Filipino girls and 1 white chick dancing to early 90s hip hop. Towards the end of the show MainFrame noticed and screamed on the mic “Yo, Where’s the “Red Baby” Yo” … at 1:43 a.m. the “Red Baby” was announced as a missing person.
Was the “Red Baby” a victim of a kidnapping? Did a another MC or crazed J&J fan snag the baby off stage? Or was this a conspiracy plotted by a group of young Filipino girls to black mail Blu & MainFrame for some shit.
In hoping that the “Red Baby” gets home safe Blu & MainFrame have posted this unreleased MP3 entitled “Baby Don’t Leave Me Now” to help lure any information pertaining to the missing “Red Baby”. If you have any info email 1800JOHNSON@gmail.com.”

Cut&Paste brings back the action for Digital Design Tournament 2009—this year’s showcase of design as fast-paced, high-intensity, internationally competitive spectator sport.
Take the best of a city’s 2D, 3D, and motion designers and throw them on a stage, with judges hovering, music blaring, minutes ticking down on the clock, a fast-talking MC on the mic, and their reputations on the line. Add to that a tech setup that registers every mouse click and tapped command from each designer’s workstation and projects them live and in real time on one of the large-scale displays in full view of the audience, and you have the Digital Design Tournament in a nutshell. With all eyes on their every move, these designers aren’t just showcasing their talents as a live performance—they’re competing for the bragging rights and gunning for the prize.
As if that weren’t enough, the 2009 tournament also features new global Audience Design Contests in 2D and 3D, with the chance for you to win, and more design excitement than ever before. Learn more at www.cutandpaste.com.

What: The 7th Annual Celebrity Crab Festival at Union Square. Union Square may not be home to crab fishermen, but we know how to celebrate San Francisco’s local seafood treasure!
Members of the San Francisco 49ers team up with local chefs to demonstrate the art and intricacies of cracking a crab. The noon-time demonstration will be followed by a timed crab cracking and cleaning contest to see who can clean the most crab.
For a minimal sampling fee, local restaurants will provide tastes of the city’s beloved Dungeness and patrons can sample beer and wine at the Wine & Beer Garden. Admission is FREE. Tickets for food, beer and wine tastings are $5 each or 6 for $25. Tickets can be bought the day of the event at a designated ticket booth - cash only.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the San Francisco 49ers Foundation which supports development programs for underserved youth that keep them safe, on track and in school. A significant portion of its funding goes towards family violence prevention programs and activities that teach youth leadership and respect.
This year, the Crab Festival will be a “zero waste” event. In partnership with Golden Gate Disposal & Recycling and the San Francisco Department of the Environment, all materials used at the event will be compostable and recyclable
