Berlin’s JAZZANOVA collective formed in 1995, after DJing with one another at a club called ‘Delicious Doughnuts’. This young group of DJs, Producers and Sound Engineers shared a common goal of blending their collective inspirations together to for a new, sophisticated sound, with debts owed to nearly every form of dance-oriented music from the past several decades.

JAZZANOVA got their first major break from BBC Radio 1’s DJ Gilles Peterson back in ‘97. This launched JAZZANOVA into a dizzying carreer filled w/remix and production work for House, Soul, Hip Hop & Electronic music’s most respected names: Jill Scott, Dwele, Masters At Work, Common, 4hero, Lenny Kravitz, Leon Ware, Little Dragon, Bugz In the Attic, and Jose James .

Their latest album OF ALL THE THINGS, offers a fresh new approach to their production:

the videos probably a re-blog from cf ways away but nevermind that.. mood music.

for fear of negotiating the legitimacy of this blog, which i’ve always considered to upkeep higher standards than the blog i keep myself even, i usually refrain from putting up matt-type things.. things id keep to my own little world for personal satisfaction.. purely entertainment value videos, shoes i want, stuff like that. i coulda swore in that process, i lost my interest and consistency of posting anything on CERTIFIED FRESH, mainly because i figured, “people prolly dont wanna see my raaandom _____ on here.” aside from it being a cozy little family we created, i’m never really good at knowing new stuff.. it was cool, being the solo city head to show face at places.. but im very shy, so i never really went as a representative as the ‘us’ i talk about in this collective of artists, or whatnot, we created. its hard for me sometimes to even say i am an artist. i dont create things.. no sculptures, no paintings. i dont dance, i dont spin. nathaniel, if you really consider it (haha :/) i guess i just see things. and i go places. and i hear sounds.. a little later than most people, but thats ok with me. didn’t even think i’d write anything today except for the fact that i looked outside, and its’s raining. if you know me you know i love the rain, actually was getting ready to go out and weather the storm for a little day drive.. and this kind of shit makes me sentimental. not bad or sad.. but wholesome and remembering. so before i go out, i kind of wanted to post something random again.. preferably this can be my re-entrance in showing face, frisco cap brim low with some coffee (only because its still day time.. catch me when the moon lights up and we’ll pour em out if youd like) and my book..

enjoy the song in the video. ive been having a horrible year, straight up. and i always like to ease the tensions in my head.
