Isara Charity Organization & Learning Center in Thailand

Isara

Posting alllllll the way from Nong Khai!

Hello tumblr community! I’m Ana Vi (left), a member of this unique (and flyyyy) collective. As you know, we post a myriad of things belonging to pop/sub/counter-culture, weekly events, free eargasmic downloads, slick deal coupons along with many other miscellaneous topics that we find entertaining. In effect, by the increasing number of followers we have, we’ve noticed the amount of responses through reblogs and “likes”. Because we share such interesting things, I’d hope you do the same for this post.

For the next few months, I will be teaching English at Isara’s community learning center, a non-profit organization that provides a comfortable and safe space for Thai children to learn english, do homework, various after school projects, develop computer skills and overall, find retention here.

Kirk Gillock and Sumittra (Ming) Supyaem, founders of this organization— who have become such inspirations to me have been working diligently (and passionately) to have this charity succeed in the small province of Thailand called Nong Khai.

Their mission:

Isara’s mission is to positively impact communities in the areas of education, safety, environmental awareness, and to promote personal effectiveness through global web-based interaction and local volunteerism.

Here is a video explaining one of the most impacting projects spreading helmet safety and awareness:

And here is a video about the development of our learning center [this is where I live!]

How you can help:

  1. BE A FAN OF THEIR PAGE ON FACEBOOK. CLICK HERE
  2. MAKE ISARA YOUR HOMEPAGE. CLICK HERE By using this homepage [which has all the necessary links and search outlets, we will be able to attract more sponsors. The more visits we get the more advertisers (sponsors) we’ll attract. And then 100% of that money is used to create more charity projects.
  3. DONATE. Even $5 a month would be more than enough for us to collect. Think about how you’ve been spending your money. But think even harder about how much you can change lives by saving some change and donating it to warm-hearted organizations like this.

Thanks guys! I feel so blessed and excited to be a part of this organization. I would love for you all to reach out and give a little big of yourselves. Help change the world! (I promise you, your contributions are for an altruistic cause)
